Term 3 - Week 1

Lots of new children have started this term. Welcome to Austin, Isla, Iona, Ruby, Nirvan & Zia! We are looking forward to our new teacher, Miss Hannah Thomas starting next week!

Because we have so many children in Pikopiko, we have had lots of helpers this week. Thanks to Donna, Jo and the Senior children for supporting this week.

We are loving Maths Action Stations! The Beebots are great for teaching us about coding.  The Magic sand is teaching us about 3D shapes, and we are learning about money being shopkeepers.

Next week ERO is visiting our school. There will be a Mihi Whakatau at 1:30pm on Monday to welcome them.

Week 10

The Pikopiko team had a fabulous time at the Christchurch School of Gymnastics!  The children tried everything from balance beams, to rings, to trampolines and foam pits!

On Wednesday the Preschool children visited.  We all had a go at weaving paper!

Our end of term celebration allowed us to see everyone's learning about Money! We joined our Whanau teams for a sausage sizzle lunch, then moved around the classes to see everyone's amazing learning. We finished with Jump Jam on the court - a great way to warm up on a cold day!  To the Pikopiko family - Have a relaxing holiday; see you next term!

Week 9

Welcome to Nirvan, who has been visiting us this week.  He starts school on Monday!

We had an exciting visitor on Tuesday - the St John's Ambulance came!  We were really pleased to give Mike the money we raised for St John by selling biscuits - we raised $54.20.

We said goodbye to William on Tuesday.  He has moved to Star of the Sea School in Sumner! We are sure you will enjoy your new school William, but we will miss you!

We made viking hats this week as part of our focus on Letter V!

Remember we are heading to the Christchurch School of Gymnastics first thing on Monday!  We really appreciate all the mums and dads taking us in their cars! Don't forget to bring your car booster seat to school!
