We have had a great week in Pikopiko.
Our letter this week was 'j' and we made jaguars, jack in the boxes and jigsaws.
This week we had the Life Education Caravan come and visit us. We had 2 lessons with Jamie and Harold the Giraffe. We learnt about why our bodies need to eat good food, why it is important to eat lots of different foods and what different foods do for our bodies.
On Thursday we had the preschool visit and we made jam sandwiches - they were yummy! We then wrote some instructions about how to make the sandwiches.
On Friday we had lots of fun at discovery. We did junk modelling with boxes, a colouring competition, construction, played in the sandpit and did writing and drawing outside with water and chalk.
SAVE THE DATE:
Wednesday 22nd March 9.00am - 12.00pm
We are going on a trip to The Eco Drop Metro, Bromley as part of the Christchurch City Council's education programme. We will be making worm farms.
We really need parent helpers for this trip so please mark this date in your diary now!
Have a lovely weekend!

Week 4 Term 1
Wow - it has been another busy week in Pikopiko!
Welcome to Franklin who started school today (Friday).
This week we were learning about Letter Ii. We made coloured ice cubes this week and used them like a pencil to write on paper!
We also tried some special home-made ice-cream called Gelato. Thanks to Paula, Andy's mum for making it and coming to talk to us about healthy foods!
We also had a Mandarin lesson with Joy. She taught us how to say hello, goodbye and thank you. She also wrote our names in Chinese writing.
At Discovery time on Friday, we sang and played with musical instruments. We are loving dressing up and playing with the big blocks!
Our letter next week is 'j'.
Have a great weekend! Don't forget to leave us a comment!
