Week 7 Term 1

Our letter this week was 'm' and we had lots of fun making 'm' things.
We made moving monkeys, mice and mail. We LOVED writing some mail for our friends in Pikopiko. It was so exciting to be able to mail them in our Pikopiko mail box.

We have also been doing some great learning at reading time.

On Thursday we had the Preschool Visit and we made masks. Have a look at our cool photos.

On Friday we had some amazing activities including dress ups, constructions, water play, chalk, card making and sweeping up the leaves with our new brooms.

On Tuesday next week we are having our SPRINT, SCOOT, SWIM and SLIDE event from1.30pm - 3.00pm.
Please make sure that you bring x2 towels, a scooter, a t-shirt to wear when sprinting and scootering and shoes that can be slipped off easily. If you do not have access to a scooter then please let us know.
We would love you to come along and cheer us on!

Please make sure that you return your child's permission slip for our trip to the Eco Drop on Wednesday.
DON"T FORGET TO BRING YOU BOOSTER SEAT TO SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY!

Week 6

For Letter Nn this week we made a "nose disguise"!

On Thursday we played a game called 'Rob the Nest'. We had lots of fun and wrote stories about playing the game. 

Every morning we practise 'Mindfulness'. Mindfulness helps us to focus on the here and now. 

After we had practised our mindfulness we then brainstormed how it made us feel.

Here are the feelings we came up with - 

We spent Friday and Saturday at the Positive Education conference.  Look who we met at the end of the day!

Next week's focus is Letter Mm!  Also, will be sending home the notice about our trip to Eco Depot, Dyers Road.  Look out for it on Monday!

Week 5 Term 1

We have had a great week in Pikopiko.

Our letter this week was 'j' and we made jaguars, jack in the boxes and jigsaws.

This week we had the Life Education Caravan come and visit us. We had 2 lessons with Jamie and Harold the Giraffe. We learnt about why our bodies need to eat good food, why it is important to eat lots of different foods and what different foods do for our bodies.

On Thursday we had the preschool visit and we made jam sandwiches - they were yummy! We then wrote some instructions about how to make the sandwiches.

On Friday we had lots of fun at discovery. We did junk modelling with boxes, a colouring competition, construction, played in the sandpit and did writing and drawing outside with water and chalk.

We are going on a trip to The Eco Drop Metro, Bromley as part of the Christchurch City Council's education programme. We will be making worm farms.
We really need parent helpers for this trip so please mark this date in your diary now!
