Week 9

Wow! What a busy last week of Term 3 we have had.

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to go and watch the senior children in their production 'Dream Big'. We loved all of the singing, dancing and acting - what a huge effort by all of the children and their teachers.

On Thursday we celebrated the arrival of spring by making daffodils. In the afternoon we played the games we had brought to school - it was nice to see a wide range of games being played (and not an electronic device in sight!)

On Friday we farewelled Mr Lewis with a Hangi and Poroporoaki. The children were really interested in how the hangi was prepared and how all of the yummy food was cooked.
Thank you to all the families for their support with this!
Good luck to Mr Lewis!

We hope you all have a relaxing holidays and look forward to seeing you all again in Term 4!!

Week 8

Welcome to Helena and Leon and Johnnie - it's great to have you join us in Pikopiko!

It was lovely to see some of you at the Afternoon tea on Wednesday.

On Thursday children from Heathcote Valley Pre-school came to visit the Volcano. We had lots of fun learning all about the letter s!

Today was Keep New Zealand Beautiful Day - the whole school spent some time picking up rubbish.

During Discovery on Friday, we "discovered" a new colouring in app called Quiver!

We are enjoying playing with the instruments and dressing up.

Week 7

Welcome to Hanaka, Zoe and Jhayda who started in Pikopiko this week!

What a cold and blustery week we have had! We loved watching the storm out the window on Thursday! Some of the children learnt how to make snowflakes by folding and cutting paper!

We have been practicing measuring length.  We measured how far we could jump using our feet as the measuring "stick!"  We measured around our head, wrist and ankle using paper.  We measured things around the room using cubes!

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to have Stig the Story Teller visit. Stig was very entertaining and made everyone laugh. He even taught us all some new games - just ask us about a game called 'Sausages'.
Charlie was chosen to go up in front of the school and play a game with Stig.
