Week 4 Term 1

Wow - it has been another busy week in Pikopiko!

Welcome to Franklin who started school today (Friday).

This week we were learning about Letter Ii.  We made coloured ice cubes this week and used them like a pencil to write on paper!

We also tried some special home-made ice-cream called Gelato. Thanks to Paula, Andy's mum for making it and coming to talk to us about healthy foods!

We also had a Mandarin lesson with Joy. She taught us how to say hello, goodbye and thank you. She also wrote our names in Chinese writing.

At Discovery time on Friday, we sang and played with musical instruments.  We are loving dressing up and playing with the big blocks!

Our letter next week is 'j'.

Have a great weekend! Don't forget to leave us a comment!

Week 3 Term 1

It has been another busy week in Pikopiko!

Thank you to all the parents who made time to come to 'Meet the Teacher' - it was great to see so many of you there. Also thank you for being so understanding about the postponement.

On Tuesday it was Valentine's Day and we showed the 'love' by making cards for those people who we love and care about.

On Wednesday we had to stay inside all day because the Port Hills fire. We also wrote some great stories about the fire and all the smoke that was in Heathcote Valley.

On Thursday it was Teddy Bear Day! We made teddy bear cards with our teddies.
We enjoyed learning about the letter 't' this week.

On Friday we had lots of fun at Discovery. We played with the dress ups, played with playdough, had a puppet theatre, learnt some new games on the iPads, made different shapes with the giant polydrons and made a tractor out of different shapes.

Exciting News! One of our caterpillars is starting to make a chrysalis - make sure you keep checking our swan plant.
