Hats and Tall Learners

Our new shared book this week is called 'Haere Atu!' and is all about a pair of sandflies at the beach. The first girl they try to munch on is wearing a floppy sloppy sunhat so we decided we would make our own lovely hats today in the Pikopiko team! There were some beautiful creations :)

This afternoon we introduced something very special. To acknowledge amazing Tall Learner behaviours in the Pikopiko team, we have set up a Tall Learner Card for each child. It has coloured strips for each of the bands on our rainbow. We had a circle time to discuss our new cards and we went round and thought of something every child had done to show they were a Tall Learner in our first few days in Pikopiko and gave everybody their first sticker :) The cards will be up around the room tomorrow morning, so be sure to find yours and work hard to be a Tall Learner every day :)
