Pretend Friday!

We normally have a very busy Friday in the Juniors at HVS. Because we just had a short week we decided to make our Thursday like a Friday! That means we had Jump Jam, Library, Wa whanau time, Junior Assembly AND Discovery! Wow!

Jump Jam was outside this morning and we had a fabulous time dancing to all our favourite songs. Well done to our new members of Pikopiko who joined in so well.

After morning tea we had our first library visit of the year. Everyone enjoyed listening to a story then selecting some books to take home.We are allowed to borrow two books every week.

Wa whanau time is going to be very special this year. Our traditional house groups are now known as our whanau groups. We will get together in these groups once a fortnight. Every student in Pikopiko now has a big buddy from higher up the school. Today was a lot of fun, meeting our new buddies and painting our faces in our whanau colours!

After lunch today we had junior assembly. We had some special certificates to hand out! Well done to William, Gabrielle, Henry, Zac and Saskia who all received a certificate today.

Finally we had a very exciting last part of our day with Discovery time. We had fun with dress ups, building with boxes, dancing with ribbons and playing with the parachute. What a great end to a fantastic first week in the Pikopiko team!

Mrs Wilson and I have had such a wonderful start to the year and we are thoroughly enjoying our new learning space. It has been fantastic getting our new team together this week and we can't wait for everything the year has to bring. We hope you've had as much fun as us! Have a wonderful long weekend!
