We had such a fabulous morning today! We headed for a special walk (outside school!) down to the wonderful community garden. What an amazing time we had! We had a very special host who was sleeping in the teepee when we arrived...a scarecrow! She showed us all around the garden and played some games, then we got to help plant some cauliflower and broccoli. We also got to see the HUMONGOUS king pumpkin!
After that we had a special treat as one of our Pikopiko friends lives right next to the garden and has their own beehive, and an amazing treehouse! We were allowed to visit and have a wee climb in the house and check out the bees. Thank you for having us!
Thanks also so much to the adults who came along to give us a hand and the wonderful scarecrow who showed us around.
We were also allowed to take home some lovely tomatoes from the garden. We sat in the sunshine this afternoon and had a tomato feast!
Finally a thank you to the parents and families that came along to our open day today to see our learning space in action. It was great to see you.
Tomorrow we will be needing helpers for PMP so please stay around in the morning if you can!
What an amazing morning you all had Pikopiko team. Zack has told me all about your adventures and is on the look out for another scarecrow. He really enjoyed the tomatoes one of his favourites, we eat them straight off the plant at home. Kelly, Zack's mum
