Today Book Week started here at HVS! This is a great time to celebrate books and reading and we are doing a few special things throughout the week.
Every day this week we do something called a Read Around. After morning tea all the teachers in the school mix up and go to a different team somewhere in the school! They have about 15 minutes to share some of their favourite books. Today Pikopiko was lucky to be visited by Mr K and Mr Berry who shared some fabulous stories. Mr Berry even got out his guitar! We really enjoyed having some different teachers visit and we're looking forward to the rest of the week.
This afternoon we also got a chance to check out the amazing Book Fair that is on in the library this week. There are some fabulous books for sale! We all had a lovely browse but many children wanted to look for longer :) The Book Fair is open before and after school every day this week for you to go and look and purchase some of these amazing books :)
How fun having a teacher swap and listening to books. Peri is looking forward to dressing up on Friday (ooo la la, here's a hint of who she might be).
